My recent stay at Megahotel felt like stepping back into the '70s, and not in the charming retro way you might imagine! While the location had potential and the idea of room service and a bar by the pool was inviting, reality fell flat. My room greeted me with unwelcome surprises, including a pair of lizards that clearly had made it their home. I was really looking forward to that second-story balcony promised on the website, but it turned out the hotel is just a single level. After an unfortunate encounter with a rude manager regarding my complaints, I decided to cut my losses and leave after just a hour and a half. While I must say the breakfast options seemed worthwhile, I sadly won't be recommending Megahotel for anyone seeking a comfortable and hassle-free trip. For culturally immersed experiences and vibrant stays in Colombia, my heart still leans towards charming boutique hotels, bursting with hospitality and the heartbeat of our rich culture.
